The Hanoi city Department of Culture and Sports has submitted to Hanoi City People’s Committee for approval the results of the project on investigating and protecting intangible cultural heritages in the city.
The project was carried out in 29 districts and a town from 2013 to 2015 by Hanoi city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (now the Department of Culture and Sports) in coordination with the Center for Cultural Heritage Research and Promotion under the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam.
According to statistics, there are 1,793 intangible cultural heritages, including folk literature, folk performance arts, socio-belief customs, traditional festivals and traditional handicrafts. 87.5% of communes and precincts have heritages, of which traditional festivals are the most common./.
