Over 400,000,000 VND was donated for people suffer floods

At the donation, Bui Van Lich – the President of the Trade Union of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs emphasized: “The damages caused by spate at Muong La district, Son La province and Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai Province are severe; with the spirit “La lanh dum la rach”, this donation from the leaders, officers and workers of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs will help people at Yen Bai, Son La province and their families to settle back.

After the call of the President; the Minister, the Chairman Do Van Chien along with Deputy Ministers, Vice Chairmen of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, the Heads of departments, units and organizations, unions donated over 400,000,000 VND. According to the plan, on August 8th, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs will organize 2 groups to visit and give the money to the people at Yen Bai and Son La province where debris, flood tubes, flash flood, land-slide took the heavy tolls on human and properties.

The statistic from the office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control shows that, from the beginning of 2017 to today, 106 people died and missing, 1019 house were collapsed, swept away and the total material damage cost was estimated over 5,000 billion VND. The flash flood and land-slide happened on Dien Bien, Yen Bai, Son La, Cao Bang province on August 2nd and 3rd also caused many damages: 26 people died, 15 people missing, 27 individuals were injured together with 231 houses were collapsed, swept away, 425 houses were wrecked. The total material damage cost was estimated over 940 billion VND.
