This is one of the 107 primary and secondary boarding schools in land border communes inaugurated after more than a year of implementing the policy of the Politburo in Announcement No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 on investing in school construction for land border communes.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026-2027 school-year and the inauguration ceremony of multi-level boarding schools in land border communes were held via a hybrid format (both in-person and online) nationwide.

Attending alongside at the bridge point of Mau Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School were Standing Deputy Minister of Education and Training Phạm Ngọc Thưởng, and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son Province Nguyễn Cảnh Toàn.

Within the framework of the event, delegates joined the 2026-2027 school-year opening program broadcast live from the central bridge point  located at Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Lao Cai Province which featuring many meaningful activities including watching a documentary on the construction process of primary and secondary boarding schools; listening to the Congratulatory Letter from General Secretary cum State President Tô Lâm; remarks by representatives of primary and secondary boarding schools in land border communes; a speech by a student representative; and keynote directives delivered by Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng.

Subsequently, the delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate Mau Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School, officially handing over and putting the facilities into service, and beat the ceremonial drum to mark the start of the new academic year concurrently with other bridge points across the nation.

Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hoài Anh along with other delegates planted commemorative trees on the school grounds, toured the educational facilities, and extended encouragement to the administrative staff, teachers, and students.

Currently, Mau Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School has 36 classes with approximately 1,260 students, including 16 primary-level classes.

Construction of Mau Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School commenced in November 2025 on an area of nearly 70,000 m², with a total investment capital exceeding 390 billion VND. The campus features 12 spacious, modern building blocks, including an administrative block, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, specialized classrooms for computer science, foreign languages, and arts, along with comprehensive amenities serving the learning, training, and daily activities of students.
